Adobe Connect

Navigate to http://meet.maine.edu and enter your UMS (@maine.edu) userID and password.

Note: The following items are recommended for best performance/participation
  • USB Microphone Headset
  • Webcam/Video Camera
  • Required Bandwidth: 512Kbps for participants, meeting attendees, and end users of Adobe Connect applications.
  • Connection: DSL/cable (wired connection recommended) for Adobe Connect presenters, administrators, trainers, and event and meeting hosts. Satellite or Dial-up modem connections will not be adequate.  A wireless connection is not recommended for best performance.

Roles within Adobe Connect:

Host – this role is REQUIRED by licensing agreement and must be present in the room during use; typically the instructor; this user has full ability to use any of the virtual tools, promote other users or demote user roles.
Presenter – the role is designated for anyone needing the ability to share materials (screen, files, etc) in the meeting; could be a guest or student.
Participant – typically the student; passive role with limited abilities until granted tool access by Host.

University of Maine System has a sitewide license with Adobe Connect. The system supports up to 100 simultaneous users.
