Skype
Skype™ is an application that allows you to make voice and video calls, make online conference calls, send text messages, share files, and share your computer screen over the Internet — all at no cost. It’s a great tool for working on projects with colleagues or classmates and for faculty holding virtual office hours. All you need is a broadband internet connection, a Skype™ account, the free Skype™ application, a microphone, and a webcam. More advanced options are available at a competitive cost, including group video calls, telephone calls (to land lines or mobile phones), and SMS (text messaging to mobile devices).
