Curriculum

The Bachelor of College Studies has a flexible and customizable curriculum designed to accommodate your individual educational background and future aspirations.

You’ll also be able to make maximum use of your existing transfer credits to meet the 120 required credits.

Students are required to take the 37-40 credits of general education courses listed in the UMM undergraduate catalog. A single course can be used to fulfill only one general education requirement.

Students will be able to choose 39 credits of courses to build a custom concentration tailored to their unique goals and interests. You’ll work one-on-one with an advisor to identify your individualized learning outcomes and courses to ensure your program of study meets your academic interests and the degree requirements.

See the section “Self-Designed Concentration” within the UMaine at Machias BCS degree requirements for more information.

  • Note: The BCS committee must approve each plan of study.
