About the Program

The online Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Engineering and Business provides students with a background in engineering the skills and knowledge required for management positions. The program combines advanced engineering and business courses with applied field experience, which allows students to demonstrate the skills they’ve developed and integrate them with the needs of their employer.

There are two concentrations: Electrical Engineering Technology and Surveying Engineering Technology.

Curriculum

The following courses are required (9 credits):

  • ENM 586: Advanced Project Management (3 credits) Fall and Spring
  • GEE 694: Graduate Engineering Internship and Experiential Learning (6 credits) Fall, Spring, and Summer

Choose three business courses (9 credits). Course options include, but are not limited to: 

  • BUA 601: Strategic Data Analysis (3 credits) Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • MBA 620: Law, Business, and Society (3 credits) Spring 
  • MBA 626: Management of Contemporary Organizations (3 credits) Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • MBA 670: Managerial Marketing (3 credits) Fall, Spring, and Summer

The following courses are required (12 credits):

  • EET 514: Printed Circuit Board Design (3 credits) Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • EET 515: Automation and Integration (3 credits) Fall
  • EET 560: Renewable Energy and Electricity Production (3 credits) Fall
  • EET 584: Engineering Economics (3 credits) Fall, Spring, and Summer

Alternative courses may be taken with EET faculty approval.

Admissions

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in engineering, math, physics, or related field with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (3.0 preferred)
