Online Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders
The online Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders prepares experienced educators, administrators, and other service providers for a leadership role in the development and implementation of educational programs for students with autism in school settings. Students will gain the critical knowledge and practical skills necessary to address the needs of children and students across the autism spectrum.

Curriculum
Courses are taken in sequence to build knowledge and understanding. There are two tracks for the Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Students must have the ability to work with a school-age student on the Autism Spectrum throughout the completion of this certificate.
Special Education Track
Students will take the following courses (12 credits):
- SED 528: Educational Methods for Students with Autism (3 credits)
- SED 556: Assessments for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (3 credits)
- SED 563: Positive Behavioral Supports for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (3 credits)
- SED 585: Communication for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (3 credits)
General Education Track
Students will take the following courses (12 credits):
- SED 528: Educational Methods for Students with Autism (3 credits)
- SED 532: Behavior Management and Intervention (3 credits)
- SED 564: Assistive Technology and Universal Design for Learning in PreK-12 Classrooms (3 credits)
- SED 585: Communication for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (3 credits)
Admissions
- Fall Deadline: August 15
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience with and currently supporting students with ASD
