Online Graduate Certificate in Information Systems
The online Graduate Certificate in Information Systems develops the technical and managerial skills needed to construct and manage modern computer-based information systems. The program creates a path for those from diverse academic backgrounds to transition to an information system career by providing a foundation in information systems.
The certificate is half of the credits of the online M.S. in Information Systems and can serve as a stepping-stone to earning the full degree.

Curriculum
Core Courses
The following courses are required (15 credits):
- SIE 505: Formal Foundations of Information Systems (3 credits)
- SIE 507: Information Systems Programming (3 credits)
- SIE 515: Human-Computer Interaction (3 credits)
- SIE 525: Information Systems Law (3 credits)
- SIE 550: Design of Information Systems (3 credits)
Admissions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a four-year international equivalent.
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

All areas of private and public enterprise rely on information systems for communication, planning, providing services, control and supporting decisions. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of computer and information systems managers is projected to grow 11% from 2020-2030, faster than the average for all occupations. About 42,400 openings for computer and information systems managers are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Also, the median salary for computer and information systems managers is $151,150.
