Curriculum

The following courses are required (6 credits):

  • BUA 680: Foundations of Business Intelligence and Analytics (3 credits) 
  • BUA 681: Data Management and Analytics (3 credits)

Choose three courses from the following (9 credits):

  • BUA 682: Data Pre-Processing for Business Analytics (3 credits)
  • BUA 683: Information Visualization (3 credits) 
  • BUA 684: Business Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery (3 credits) 
  • BUA 685: Problem Solving and Decision Analysis (3 credits) 
  • BUA 686: Predictive Analytics and Business Forecasting (3 credits) 
  • ECO 530: Econometrics (3 credits) 
  • ECO 531: Advanced Econometrics and Application (3 credits)

A college-level statistics course covering topics through linear regression with a “B” or higher is required. Applicants without this requirement will take one additional online course to fulfill this requirement before taking any Business Analytics courses.

Admissions

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • A college-level statistics course covering topics through linear regression with a “B” or higher

  • A minimum TOEFL score of 80 (IbT) or IELTS score of 6.5 for international students

We have rolling admissions, meaning you can apply and be accepted anytime. The admission evaluation process begins once we’ve received all of your application materials. Before you apply, please review the application instructions. When you’re ready to apply, please submit the following:

  • An online application
  • Current résumé or CV with the contact information for three professional or academic references
  • Official academic transcripts from all institutions attended
  • A 300-500 word essay describing your career goals and aspirations. The essay is evaluated for content, intrinsic writing quality, and strengths.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores (international students)

Careers

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of management analysts is projected to grow 10% from 2022 to 2032, faster than average, with about 92,900 openings per year. The median annual wage for analysts was $99,410 in May 2023, higher than the median yearly wage for all occupations of $48,060.
